Well I decided to start running again. I have missed it, and while I still lack motivation I forced myself to use my treadmill after work tonight. Since it has been so long since I ran, I restarted the C25K program that I used in the past. Tonight was Week 1 Day 1. I went 1.17 miles in 20 minutes. Not bad considering how long it has been. My legs are a bit sore, but I feel really good because I finished the run. Now to keep it up.

I happened to stop in to the local game store today to check on a game I had reserved and they happended to have a Wii Fit. I have wanted one since they came out, but had not been able to locate on. Using the last of my bonus money I bought it. I am looking forward to trying it out tomorrow afternoon.

Well I don’t know if they hired me because I truly was the best candidate, or if they were desperate for the help, but I got the position. I think the interview went ok. Not great but much better then the last time I interviewed. I know they were looking for 15 people, but they did admit that the did not have enough qualified applicants. So I know I was at least considered qualified, but I will never know if they would have picked me even if they had enough people apply. I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth though. I accepted the position and I am going to do my best to be a success at it.

So tomorrow well technically later on today I have another interview. This is also for a temporary coaching position at my work. They need 15 people so I hope my chances are pretty good. I know I can do the job. Hell for more then a year I have been doing the job with the title of “Subject Matter Expert” with great success. I just interview poorly. I know this. I get nervous. My hands shake. I forgot my own name. I focus so much on not fidgeting that I appear stiff and unapproachable. My company interviews in what is called the STAR story format. The questions all start out with “tell me a time when……” They can’t make it simple and ask questions about my qualifications, my job skills, or anything else. I hate that. I have a hard enough time selling myself as it is and to have to remember details about specific stories when I am having trouble remembering my name is beyond not fun.

Well I just need to remember to Be Positive. Be Confident. Be Myself. Easier said then done but I am going to try.

So tonight was interesting at work. I got to do nothing for 10 hours. What fun. I am so glad it is the weekend. I am looking forward to 3 days of no work. I have several books on my shelf to read and I want to do a bit more work here on the site. Add a few more pages maybe. I also want to get a run in. I haven’t had a decent run is a long time, so I think it is time to turn that around.

Ok some of you might have had access to an old forum I had put on here a few years ago. The point behind it was to keep in touch with co-workers once we started to move departments and jobs. We used it to plan our girls nights. That forum has now been removed. We all stopped using it, so I decided to just delete it. I can always re-add it if a need comes up.

I also took down the photo site I had up here for awhile. I had installed it to replace the Flickr album but it took up too much space so I never used it for anything. I think I will start using Flickr or another similar service in the future. When I do I will add a link to the photo album on this site.

I also re-enabled the site to allow new users to register themselves. I am still getting the same amount of spam that I was before so in order to make it easier for anyone who wants to comment I will just let anyone one register again. You will still need to be logged in to post.

So a few weeks ago I applied for 2 coaching jobs at work. On that would be a position here in Arizona, and one that would take me to India. I know I am qualified to do either job considering I am acting as a coach already in my current role of “Subject Matter Expert” but I interviewed horribly. I was nervous and totally forgot what I should be saying to tell the right STAR stories and nail down the job. So I didn’t get either one. Now the people who did get the two jobs are qualified ( I still think I was the best one though) so I am not angry or upset that I didn’t get the job. I figure that I didn’t get it for a reason and that something better will come along.

So on 08/09 I went to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers again. I think this is either the 4th or 5th time I have seen them. Once again a great show. Full of energy. However this marks the first time we have not stayed until the end. I won’t post the details of our leaving early here, but I will say what I saw of the concert was great and overall I had a really fun time out with my friends. I needed the escape and am really glad we managed to go.

So on 08/08/08 I went and got my 5th tattoo. It is a lotus flower on my right ankle. I think it looks really nice. I went with Brittany from work so she could watch me get a new one and then she got her first. I know I am such a bad influence.

While there Frankie from The 30’s at KR stopped in. He only lives about 15 minutes from me, yet it has taken over a year for us to meet in person. He had some work done himself at that tattoo parlor the week before so he decided to stop in again to see me in person. It was good to finally meet him. We had a nice conversation and discussed doing a charity walk later on this year. I will post a picture of my new tattoo as soon as I can get a decent one taken with my digital camera. The one I took with my cell phone is really grainy and doesn’t show how bright the colors are.

Ok so my plan of at least once a week was a bit delayed.

Memorial day weekend was pretty good. I went to a local Geocaching event. It was my first time attending one and I was a bit nervous but the people were really nice and welcoming. I had a nice lunch, “discovered” some interesting geocoins and maybe made a new friend or two.

Work is going ok for me. I still like working in fraud, and last week they gave me the task of quality checking some of the trainees work. I had done it in the past when I was coaching and they training department was a bit behind so they asked me to do it again.

I had a good 2 weeks on the diet. I stayed on plan with the eating, but my running was not up to par. I missed a few runs due to work/schedule issues, but still all and all a good week. I weigh in again tomorrow so we shall see if I managed to drop any of the pounds.

My mom lost her job again so until she finds another one our funds will be tight. No more extra purchases for me. I might have to cancel the Weight Watchers monthly fee and just go it alone using software on my palm pilot until we have the funds to rejoin. My payment is not due until the middle of June so I have some time to decide.
