I am very impressed with the running/half marathon! I could never do it, I'm glad there are those that can. Good luck, and I'll keep checking in :).

Thanks for the advice on the cucumber. I will have to remember that for next time, if there is a next time. You would figure I would know better since I live in a desert after all.

I actually don't run the stairs either. *grin* I only started running in April as a way to get in shape and drop a few pounds. I discovered I loved it. When I started I could barely run 30 seconds at a time. Now I am up to 3 miles. It takes a lot of work, but the rewards are worth it.

See you on the forums.

I was curious about you siggy and it took me here.
If you want my advice, use cucumber peels on the burned patches of skin. It takes away the sting and it cools the heat. I am impressed with your running. I can't even run up a flight of stairs, but it's not for lack of trying. See you on the forum.

Your no more insane than the rest of us =) We've all signed up for races and had second thoughts. You will be fine. Keep plugging away at your miles. You have plenty of time between now and Eugene. And yes, you'll have plenty of support from all of us.

Myron - Thanks for visiting and thank you for the support.

You are right 9 months ago 3 miles seemed out of reach. Now I can manage that on a regular basis. I think if I slowly build my base and don't do too much to soon I might have a chance.

Hey! Fly by visit on your blog!

I think you can do it. You'll have almost a year of running in your legs by then. It's amazing how fast you can progress also once you break through a few barriers. I'm sure 9 months ago 3 miles seemd 'almost impossible' and now you've done that :)

If you're going to do it though, train smart, push yourself, but not too hard. Going too hard can cause injury... you don't want that...

Good Luck!

lol I have a few firearms. I go target shooting on occasion. A hobby my Father got me into as a child.

I have no plans for the 4th at this point, but I might be working. I am going to ask for the 3rd and the 4th off to see if I can make it to the race. I might show up to watch even if I am too tired to run.
