Oh my goodness I can’t believe I did it. I ran for 20 minutes with out stopping. 7 weeks ago I could not run for 90 seconds with out gasping for air. I have come along way and I am so proud of myself. I did have to slow my pace for the last 5 minutes of the run, but I kept running. My normal running pace is 4 mph, but I dropped to 3.5 mph during the last 5 minutes. The most amazing thing though is after my cool down walk, I considered running again. I talked myself out of it though.

This was tough. I struggled on the last 8 minute segment and had to slow to a walk for about a minute halfway through. I am worried about the 20 min run on Friday. If I can’t manage to do 8 minutes at a time, 2 times, with a 5 minute walk break in between how am I going to manage 20 minutes straight. *sigh* I will do my best to complete it though.

I was not sure I could do this one, but I managed it. I had to slow my pace on the recovery walks, but I managed to run for all 3 five minute sets. So I will do D2 on Wednesday.

After the cooldown, I decided to see if I could do another 5 minutes. Amazingly enough I was able to.

Ok even knowing I can run 11:35 minutes straight, I still had problems with the last 5 minute run. I only managed 4 minutes of it. I am really considering repeating this week after today’s run. I might try W5 and see what happens and decide from there if I need to repeat W4.

Annoyed!!! May 4, 2007

So I get this expensive new laptop, and the darn thing hates this website. I can’t get it to load any of the pages that allow me to update the site. I am using my old one to post my exercise stuff. I am computer savy and I can’t figure out what the problem is. They are both running on the same wireless router, with the same internet connections, but this one connects to everything with out a problem, and that one is slower then dialup. I have turned off the firewall, removed norton which I hate and stopped the “automatic phishing” scan that it tried to do on every site I visited, and I still have huge problems getting to my own damn website. I can get it to view, but I can’t post or edit, or anything else from it. I am about ready to either take it to best buy and have them figure out why it is so damn slow, or just return the whole thing to the store and stick with this one. This one has its problems, it needs to have so much stuff deleted and some major updates, but at least I can access my website with it. I am about at the end of my rope with at 2k new toy that is really pissing me off!!!!!

A run just to run May 4, 2007

This was not a C25k run. I decided tonight I was going to just do a warm up and then run as long as I could with out stopping. I wanted to see how long I could manage. My first week of the program the 60 sec runs were killer. I was so proud of myself. I ran 11:35 without stopping. Then I walked for 3:30 and started a 2nd run. I only ran for 4:30 the second run though. I think if I did a full 5 min recovery walk, I would have been able to run for another 10 minutes or so. I did a 5;44 min cool down walk when I was done with the second run. I almost did a third run after that, but decided not to push it since I have C25k W4D3 tomorrow morning. This is the first time my running totalled more then my walking. My running distace was 1.06 miles and my walking distance was .54 miles.

1.60 in 30.08 so about 18:50 min/mile

This felt pretty good. I had to force myself out of bed to run because I got a horrible nights sleep, but I am glad I did. I still had to do a 30 sec recovery walk at about 4 minutes into the last 5 minute segement, but I still feel good about the run. I am confident I will be able to do the whole thing as written on Day 3.
