Feb TOC February 25, 2007
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentWell The TOC for Event Poker was Saturday (today sort of). I did alright. I took 12th out of about 90 people or so. I was pleased. I know there were a few hands I could have played better, but all in all I think I did well. I was hoping to make the final 10 again, but that was just not in the cards tonight.
Event Poker 7th TOC December 4, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentWell the TOC was on Saturday. It was the 3rd one I have played in. The first two I didn’t do very well in but I was great in this one. More then 100 players qualified and they had 12 tables running. So about 96 players. I actually made it to the final table. Not only that, but I took 3rd. I was so thrilled. About midway in the turny I was down to my last 1500 so I went all in. I managed to split the pot and hold on for a few more hands. I did a few more all in moved and ended up being pretty healthy over all. I went to the final table with about 30k in chips. I was about in the middle of the money so it was not a bad position to be in. I had pocket aces one hand and almost doubled up and then a few hands later I had pocket jacks and took a small pot. From there I still got a few decent hands, but nothing great. I tried to play it the best I could though and I had played with the people at the table before so I had a decent idea of what types of hands they would play. I ended up going out with a pretty good hand. I was all in with a good hand, but lost. I had a lot of people pulling for me to win the whole thing. They were all debating on who I was going to take on the laughlin trip with me when I won. *grin* While I would have prefered 1st place, I am really happy with how well I did. I was shocked that I made it that far, and I am really proud of myself for how well I manged to do. Now to keep getting better and win the whole thing next time around.
10 days with out work December 1, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards, Vacations , add a commentWell today is the first day of my vacation. I am not really going any where, but I am staying at a hotel in Scottsdale to get my Christmas shopping done, and relax before the holiday rush. It is a really nice resort, and I am throwing a girls weekend here Sat night. It should be a blast. I have already premade the long island ice teas.Â
I am playing in the TOC for event poker tomorrow. After that the girls weekend starts. It should be a nice 10 day vacation. I am giong to do my shopping during the begining of the week and spend the rest of the time relaxing and just hanging out. I have my video games, my laptop, my crochet project, and tons of books to read. It should be wonderful.
Stuff from the over the weekend November 26, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentSo on Friday I worked as usual, but it was a slow day because of the holiday. On Saturday I spent most of the day at home, but I did go out and play poker around 7pm. I went out rather early due to crappy cards. Luck just was not on my side that game. After that several of us went to another bar to play darts. I really need the practice. I am lucky to hit the damn board. Jim was my partner in the teams game, and the only reason we came close to winning the second game was because he was playing really well. I had some lucky shots, but when you are aiming from the left side of the board and hit the right side, you have a bit of a problem.Â
On Sunday I went to the 4 o’clock game and I had a few nice hands. I was doing good for the most part, but I got rivered 2x really badly. Once I got beat when a guy chased a straight to the river when I had the top two pair. That one was pretty bad but I was still in. I won a few hands and built my stack back up, but then I flopped an Ace high straight. I had the best hand going in, and I beat as big as I could considering my short stack. I got rivered by a guy that called me and then chased an Ace high flush to the river card. That was it for my game.Â
After that I came back home and did laundry and started working on my Disney pictures. I was going to go to the 8pm game, but since the laundry really needed to be done or I would have had nothing to wear to work on Monday I ended up staying home.Â
I figure I will play the 10pm game Monday night if I can reach some one who will sign me in and blind me out until I get there around 1030 because of work. That will be the last chance I have to play before the TOC on Saturday.Â
Sunday Again November 5, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentWell it is Sunday night. I spent the day out playing cards. I took 10th at Barwinkles and did not even make it to intermission at Stardust. I was getting pretty good cards, but no luck on the flops. Oh well that is the way it goes sometimes.
Last week I set up to have 11/17 off work to go see the RCPM concert in Tempe. A group of us are going to go out and have a blast. I am looking forward to it almost as much as I am look forward to the week I have off in December.Â
Monday night cards. October 31, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentSo I made it to Enoch’s tonight to play cards. I was a bit late, but they let me play anyway. *grin* Mike signed me in and had them post my blinds until I got there. I was only a bit late so I was not really that bad off chip wise when I sat down. I made it to the final table and ended up with 4th place. Lynn was right and I should have played my pocket 3’s right before we moved tables. I would have been in a much better position chip wise and I might have managed to earn enough points to make the TOC. As it is I am still 20 points short.Â
Well it is Sunday October 29, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards, Vacations , add a commentAnother weekend is almost over. I have plans to play poker tonight, but other then that nothing is set.Â
I am going to put some new software in my phone. In theory it will give me back the threaded sms chat feature that the new 700w took away. It is still in beta so I am going to be testing it out to see how well it works. I am a little nervous about it because I have not edited code for computer software in ages. I have to make some changes to my registry after I install it so I am major backing every thing up first before I put it in. I am having visions of turning my $700 phone into a paperweight. Lets hope that does not happen.Â
I had plans to go to Vegas, those have been canceled. I then had plans to go to Laughlin and now those have been canceled. I guess I am destined to spend the rest of 2006 in Arizona with out any more escapes to win tons of money at a casino. *grin*Â
I am thinking about asking for a dart board for Christmas. I was going to ask for the new Nintendo Wii, but considering I have only played the xbox about 12 times since last Christmas, it does not seem like it is worth my family spending the money. I want it, but I just never really have time to play anymore. The dart board could be used by everyone, and I really need the practice because I still suck.Â
Vacation is over and some other stuff. October 9, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards, Vacations, Work Stuff , add a commentSo my vacation is over and I am back at work today. All in all it was a pretty fun week in Disneyland. I have several new pins for my wall and some new shirts I bought as well. I thought about getting some jewerly but talked myself out of it. I will have pictures from the trip up within the week. The whole trip was fun, but there were a few minor bumps and stresses. That is the norm though.Â
I am back at work on my reduced shift. It was nice being able to get up a bit later and to take my time this morning. Since I gained weight on my trip, I will be using my treadmill every morning before work from here on out. My dr recommended the exercise anyway as a stress releiver so it will serve for 2 things. I really did not gain alot, just 5lbs, but I want to loose those 5lbs. The exercise should help with that.Â
Since my shift starts at my old break time, I had to move my starbucks run back as well. So I have afternoon coffee instead of morning coffee. I am trying to be positive at work today. I am really hoping this change helps with my stress and my work enviroment and stats improve.
There is poker tonight at enoch’s but I am not sure I am going to make it. I am thinking about it and I was also considering playing darts after the poker game, but I forgot my darts at home.Â
Sunday Stuff September 17, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , 2commentsSo I missed the 4pm game at Barwinkles because I was taking a nap. After the show last night (see below post) I did not get to bed until almost 6am. Then my alarm went off at 1030. I got up, moved to the recliner in the living room, and watched a bit of tv until I fell asleep again.Â
I did make the 8pm game at Stardust though. I actually did really good. Normally I don’t make the final table at Stardust, I just don’t have a lot of luck with the cards there, but tonight I managed to take 3rd place. 80 points to get this season started off. 120 points more to go to qualify for the toc, but I am hoping to have them with in the next week or so.Â
TOC September 3, 2006
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, It's in the Cards , add a commentSo the TOC was today. Well actually yesterday.Â
Cindi, Chuck, Matt, Eric, and I went to lunch first at “El Paso” and then we headed over to the Stardust. The game started at 1pm. It was a blast. I lasted longer this time then I did in the last TOC. Scott finally put me out of the game when he slow played his trip jacks. After the regular play was over, but before the final table they did a raffle for a tv. Anyone who had placed in the the top 10 for either the first or second half got a ticket. I did not manage to get one, but my sister did and she won the tv. It is a nice 23 inch one. The winner of the final table was John in his spongebob shirt.Â
