13.1 August 25, 2007

I am seriously considering signing up for a half-marathon that takes place in May. I would have 9 months to get ready. My biggest issue is I can only run 3 miles straight but a half is 13.1 I know I don’t have to run all of that, and I would get to travel to Oregon and meet up with the 30’s from KR in person.

Hey! Fly by visit on your blog!

I think you can do it. You’ll have almost a year of running in your legs by then. It’s amazing how fast you can progress also once you break through a few barriers. I’m sure 9 months ago 3 miles seemd ‘almost impossible’ and now you’ve done that :)

If you’re going to do it though, train smart, push yourself, but not too hard. Going too hard can cause injury… you don’t want that…

Good Luck!

Myron - Thanks for visiting and thank you for the support.

You are right 9 months ago 3 miles seemed out of reach. Now I can manage that on a regular basis. I think if I slowly build my base and don’t do too much to soon I might have a chance.
